Plot Bunny

In The Navy…

I know it’s been a long time since I’ve shared a plotbunny, but here we go!

So, I very recently went to an Airshow on the Gold Coast (my family loves them, and while I’m not super knowledgeable about the aircraft, I do enjoy watching the manoeuvres etc). The show we went to is very American. The announcer is American, the majority of the planes have come over from the US, most of the pilots are American and so forth. I love this for me, because I have a thing about accents that aren’t Australian. *insert drool here.*

Anyway, the US Navy make a solid appearance during the show, as do the Australian armed forces and emergency services, and that means there are men and women in uniform walking around during the day…*swoon*

BOOM. Instant plot bunnies.

Now, I’ll admit that I know nothing about the Navy outside of what I’ve learned from watching Top Gun (both films, so I’m totally educated now, haha) and NCIS, but I suddenly need ALL the armed forces/men in uniform MM romances.

I listened to the audio of Aiden Bates’ mpreg (non-shifter omegaverse) series, SEALED With A Kiss a while ago, and I think I’d like to try writing something in that vein, maybe? I know I need to stretch my creative muscles when it comes to long-running plot and action scenes, but I wouldn’t mind giving it a try.

Or even a non-mpreg, “standard” contemporary MM dual bi-awakening or something? Naval officers or SEALS left behind after a crash or a mission gone bad, having to survive somewhere together and becoming close? Or what about JAG officers –JAG and NCIS officers??– working a case together?

Or what about a training exercise (a la Down Periscope – yes, I am reaching for references, why do you ask? haha) where the desperate-to-prove-himself Captain comes up against a resentful, mouthy, young guy who is trying to get himself discharged and sparks fly? Or instead of the mouthy, young guy, an eager-to-please young officer looking for a Daddy and finding one in a bunk mate?

Maybe I don’t even want to write them. I just want to read them! Hit me with your best men in uniform recs!
