It was only going to be a matter of time before I gave in and admitted to a Ted Lasso inspired bunny. I’ve got a couple bouncing around in my brain, neither particularly well developed, but I’m in the mood for a Coach and Player romance. Grumpy/sunshine. Maybe DDlb. Maybe Omegaverse. Some Hurt/Comfort, some praise kink. Perhaps an injury plot? Or, in the case of an Omegaverse, an accidental bonding/mating/pregnancy?
I’d love to have those forbidden relationship feels without it actually being forbidden.
I know that high-level professional football (or soccer for those of us from countries who aren’t on board with the lingo) doesn’t have many out players, but I’m not thinking about writing or reading anything overly heavy (we all know I like it sweet and fluffy), though touching on the subject of homophobia in the sport seems necessary if it’s not A/B/O. (I feel like for Omegaverse stuff, homophobia is generally a moot issue. That’s probably a big part of why I enjoy the genre so much? Although there are still issues with Alpha/Alpha and Omega/Omega relationships…but I digress.)

I’d be tempted to write a DDlb more than an ABO story, to be honest. I would go with the more traditional/stereotypical roles, with the older coach as Daddy and the young, bratty player as Little. As with my CEO bunny, I think having the Daddy character accidentally discover the Little’s kinky side is a fun idea. Maybe they’re on the road for an Away game and are rooming together for some reason? Opening the wrong bag and discovering a stuffy or other Little items could lead to some interesting conversations and…an agreement. Perhaps our Daddy character falls first, proving that beneath his gruff exterior lies a sweet, marshmallow-y centre. They have to keep their relationship (not to mention their kink) under wraps from the press, the other players, the owner of the club…but what happens if our Little player gets injured during a game? Or there’s the threat of a transfer? There are so many possibilities!
Does anything like this already exist? It doesn’t have to be soccer, haha.
